Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a real OS?

If you are asking a serious question, I will give you a serious reply.
Ohh, wait... we are not Dr. S. Jaishankar, aka "laser light".
We give you direct answers, not political ones. So, Yes, it's a real OS — but with AI superpowers.

Do you support Nvidia GPUs?

Nvidia? F*ck y— Oh wait... yes, we actually support them!
Not just Nvidia, we also support AMD GPUs. A dedicated GPU is recommended for the best experience, but it's completely optional.

Is my data sent to the cloud?

No. Turing AI OS is built with a fundamentally air-gapped philosophy. All inference runs entirely on your local hardware through standard frameworks like Ollama. We do not even include analytics tracking in the kernel.

Can I install normal Linux tools and games?

Yes. Turing AI OS is built on Ubuntu/KDE Neon. You have full root access and can use standard package managers (`apt`, `snap`, `flatpak`) to install anything you normally would on a Linux distribution. Steam Proton works perfectly.

Can I run my own custom LLMs?

Yes, Any Ollama compatible model works.

Can this run GPT-5?

Sure... if you own a data center.

Will it replace Windows?

Depends how brave you are.

Will it make coffee?

Not yet. But we can go for a walk!

Is this beginner friendly?

Yes but developers will love it more.

Why is my fan so loud when I ask the AI a question?

Because mathematics is hard. You are forcing billions of floating-point operations through your poor laptop's logic board just to ask "how to boil an egg". The fan is the sound of your machine weeping.
